Information Minister attends Global Media Congress opening

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 14 (BNA): Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Information Minister, today attended the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC 2023).

 

 The three-day event is held in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.

 

 Dr. Al Noaimi lauded the organisation of the GMC for the second year in a row, noting that the event provides an important platform to discuss the reality and future of the media industry regionally and internationally, as well as to exchange ideas and experiences, which would contribute to the development of media work, and enhance its ability to deal with the various challenges facing the media industry.

 

 The Information Minister stressed that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and thanks to the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the kingdom pays growing interest in the media sector, out of its belief in the importance of the sincere and sober media message in serving its comprehensive development process.

 

 Dr. Ramzan Al Noaimi highlighted the UAE’s media strides, praising its interest in investing in such a vital field so as to make it more capable of carrying out its cultural and developmental mission.

 

 He indicated that the participation of a great number of experts and specialists in GMC 2023 opens broader horizons and a more comprehensive vision to enhance the role of the media in providing the development systems witnessed by the countries of the region with creative and unconventional ideas that are compatible with common human values aimed at promoting peace, security and stability, which are the basis for human growth and development.

 

 The Information Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to the UAE for the role it is playing in upskilling GCC and Arab youth media competencies by holding such events, providing them an opportunity to benefit from the experiences of senior media professionals and academicians across various media fields, wishing the organisers and the participants every success in achieving the forecast goals.

 

 More than 170 countries, 160 speakers, 800 media professionals and major media companies are participating in GMC 2023, which opened here today, it is organised by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) and Capital Events of the ADNEC Group, under the theme "Shaping the Future of the Media Industry”.
