Qatar News Agency Partakes in FANA 50th Conference

Abu Dhabi, November 15 (QNA) - The 50th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) started today in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, and will continue through Thursday, with the participation of the Qatar News Agency (QNA). The conference is held in conjunction with the Global Media Congress (GMC) held in Abu Dhabi.
The conference discusses many issues of concern to Arab news agencies and ways to develop their performance, as the heads of the Federation's member agencies affirmed the continuation of work and development to keep pace with new changes, and the formation of a committee to develop FANA, so that it can implement the decisions taken by the General Assembly every year.
The conference participants stressed the need to organize many training courses and workshops for employees of member Arab news agencies, and to focus on the practical aspects of these courses, with the aim of developing current competencies and enabling them to learn about new developments in the field of technological and information progress.
The General Assembly appreciated the role played by FANA's General Secretariat in international forums and international conferences of news agencies held since 2005. It also approved the continuation of work for the next year on the economic file (the unified economic bulletin), the cultural file, the health file, and the women's and environmental media service reports, and to discuss their development by the committee formed by the Union's General Assembly.
With regard to technical affairs and updating the (Fana News) website, the General Assembly decided to return to the method that requires Arab agencies to publish their news or any number of them daily on the site using available technical means, which contributes to developing the site and returning it to what it was previously. The Assembly also approved the Federation's budget for the year 2023.
Qatar News Agency (QNA) has always been keen to keep pace with the communications and digital content revolution, keeping pace with technical developments and mobile journalism tools, and introducing it into the media content production process. (QNA)
