GCC Secretary General attends Manama Dialogue

Manama, Nov. 18 (BNA): Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), attended the 19th edition of the Manama Dialogue Conference "Regional Security Summit", organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation with the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) on November 17-19, 2023, in Manama.
Hosting the regional security summit in Bahrain showcases its role in discussing political, defense, and security issues in the Middle East and the world, Al Budaiwi said.
He added that Manama Dialogue brought together senior international officials and experts to exchange ideas and develop solutions for security, peace, and prosperity, supporting sustainable development goals in the region and globally.
The secretary general commended His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their royal patronage and Bahraini government's efforts in hosting Manama Dialogue since its 2004 edition, which aims to strengthen cooperation, build common understanding, and maintain regional and international security and stability.
He emphasised the significance of Manama Dialogue in addressing political and security issues affecting the Middle East region's security, as well as the impact of global conflicts and disputes on the region.
Al Budaiawi praised the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IISS in organising the summit.
