BDF chief meets UK military officials

Manama, Nov. 19 (BNA): Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), today met Admiral Sir Antony David Radakin, Chief of the UK Defence Staff, and Air Marshal Martin Elliot Sampson, UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, on the sidelines of the 19th edition of the IISS-Manama Dialogue.

Lieutenant-General Abdulla bin Hassan Al Noaimi, Defence Affairs Minister, was present.

The commander-in-chief praised the distinguished long-standing Bahraini-UK relations, lauding the ongoing bilateral defence cooperation.

The BDF Commander-in-Chief and the Chief of the UK Defence Staff signed a Declaration of Intent between Bahrain the BDF and the UK Armed Forces.

The Declaration of Intent aims to develop military cooperation between both sides, through the signing of a cooperation agreement that would broaden joint relations.
