Analysts, Experts to QNA: Humanitarian Pause Agreement in Gaza New Success for Qatar's Diplomacy

Doha, November 22 (QNA) - Several experts and analysts praised the distinguished efforts of the State of Qatar and its successful mediation that led to reaching an agreement for a humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which will last for four days, subject to extension.

They stated in special statements made to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that reaching this agreement represents a new success for the State of Qatar and its diplomacy in resolving crises and disputes by peaceful means. The State of Qatar has become one of the most important actors in settling disputes by peaceful means and through negotiation at regional and international levels.

They also praised the coordination between the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America (USA), which led to reaching the humanitarian pause agreement, while stressing the need for Israel to oblige to what was agreed upon.

Advisor and expert in legal and international relations Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Ghaith Al Kuwari praised the diplomatic and political efforts that the State of Qatar has been making since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7 to stop the further spreading of Palestinian blood. The pause agreement that Doha announced that it had reached also confirms the State of Qatar's firm aim of reducing the escalation, protecting civilians in the Gaza Strip, sparing Palestinian blood, and standing by their side.

Dr. Al Kuwari noted that the heavy diplomatic activity and the direction of the world leaders and senior officials towards Doha since the start of the aggression on Gaza clearly reflects the status of the State of Qatar and its role as a reliable global mediator in resolving and settling crises by peaceful and political means. He also affirmed that the State of Qatar holds great importance to the Palestinian issue, as it is the central issue of the Arab nation.

Since the beginning of this crisis, the State of Qatar has endeavored with every effort to work to stop the war and ensure that it does not expand and prolong its duration, as this could have serious repercussions that spread throughout the region, Dr. Al Kuwari added.

He said that the success achieved by the State of Qatar, through this mediation in coordination with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the USA, is also considered an implementation of the decisions of the Arab-Islamic Summit recently held in Riyadh.

On his part, Professor of political science Dr. Muhammad Al Misfer praised the efforts made by the State of Qatar that led to reaching a humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip. Al Misfer stated that this is not the first success of Qatari mediation and will not be the last. The State of Qatar has a long history of resolving conflicts in various regions of the world through diplomacy and mediation.

Dr. Al Misfer highlighted that, since the first day of the aggression against Gaza, the State of Qatar has been in contact through personal communications and diplomatic means with concerned parties such as the Arab Republic of Egypt, the USA, and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). It made many efforts that have resulted in success. Dr. Al Misfer stressed the need for the Israeli side to commit to what was agreed upon.

In turn, editor-in-chief of Al Sharq newspaper Jaber Al Harami said that that reaching an agreement for a humanitarian pause that will last for four days and can be extended in the Gaza Strip represents a new success for Qatari policy, its active and rational diplomacy, and the correct Qatari approach.

He said that this announced pause comes at a very important time after the lack of all means of life in the Strip, such as water, electricity, food, medicine, etc. It contributes to the return of life again for the residents of the Gaza Strip.

Al Harami indicated that Qatar was able to triumph over the humanitarian aspects and reach an extendable pause, which may be the beginning of stopping the aggression once and for all. With this achievement, Qatar once again confirms to the world its ability and experience in managing crises with wisdom, rationality, and balance, citing the widespread praise issued by various countries of the world and regional and international organizations that attest to the credibility of the State of Qatar before the international community.

He added that Qatar intervened, from the first moments of the aggression, to defend Gaza and the Palestinian people. Its efforts were crowned with success and the announcement of the armistice agreement. He indicated that the agreement would serve as a "pulse test" between Hamas and the Israeli entity. He said that if things go normally, this truce can be extended, the fighting can stop, more prisoners can be released, the crossings can be opened, and humanitarian aid and fuel can be brought in.

The editor-in-chief of Al Sharq newspaper attributed the success in reaching the aforementioned agreement to Qatar's credibility, its extended and broad relations with all parties, and the sincerity in its efforts, and that it does not have any special agendas behind this, but rather aims to achieve security, peace, and stability for all.

He also praised the coordination between the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America, which led to putting pressure on Israel and reaching this achievement.
For his part, Professor of Qatar Chair, Waseda University, Japan Dr. Abdullah Baabood praised the remarkable efforts of the State of Qatar and its distinguished role in reaching a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the war on Gaza.

Dr. Baabood pointed out that this agreement, which was welcomed by the world, crowned Qatari efforts that came in coordination with partners to stop the bleeding of Palestinian blood, and at the same time represents more strong Qatari support for the Palestinian cause.

He stressed that, by reaching this agreement, Qatari diplomacy continued its achievements, which are praised by all and succeeded in sparing the blood of the Palestinian brothers, which would help in finding other ways to resolve the crisis away from war and destruction.

He expressed his confidence in the continuation of Qatari efforts on the path of dialogue and negotiations leading to ending the crisis on the basis of the two-state solution and the implementation of the relevant international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative in this regard.

In turn, Director General of Qatar Press Center Sadiq Mohammed Al Ammari praised the efforts made by the State of Qatar that led to reaching a humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip against which the Israeli entity has been waging a devastating war since Oct. 7.

He stressed that this effective and fruitful Qatari effort, coordinated by Doha, Cairo, and Washington is not new to the State of Qatar and comes within the framework of its important initiatives that it has been undertaking to establish global peace and stability and within its continuing efforts to calm hotbeds of conflict and tension around the world.

Al Ammari expressed his hope that this pause will contribute to alleviating the humanitarian burden on Palestinian citizens in the Strip and bring food, medicine, fuel, and other life necessities into the Gaza Strip, which has been besieged for more than 17 years and that it will form the beginning of bringing a just and lasting peace to the region, guaranteeing freedom and a decent life for the Palestinian brethren in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
