Bahrain participates in OIC Labour Ministers Conference

Baku, Nov. 21 (BNA): Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, headed the Bahraini delegation participating in the fifth conference of labour ministers of the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

This year’s edition is held on November 21-23 under the theme "Innovative Solutions and Digitalisation of Labour and Employment Services."

The conference discusses the conditions of labour markets in OIC member states and the proposed policies to enhance their conditions in terms of employment and social protection.

It also discusses skills development, and vocational and technical education, and encouraged countries to benefit from technology and innovation sciences to advance and mitigate the effects of unemployment.

Humaidan said that participation in this conference reflects Bahrain's keenness on strengthening cooperation among Islamic countries in the development of workforce and labour markets, and exchange of expertise.

The minister pointed out that Bahrain’s delegation shed light on Bahrain's achievements and initiatives to reduce the rate of unemployment and boost human resources development, as well as the strategic plans taken by the kingdom to continue regulating the labour market.
