NIHR recieves US Congress staff delegation; highlights Bahrain's human rights strides

Manama, Nov. 22 (BNA):  Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received a staff delegation from the US Senate and House of Representatives.

Al Derazi briefed the delegation about the NIHR's role in dealing with the human rights situation in Bahrain, in accordance with the law on its establishment. He also highlighted the NIHR's advisory role in submitting recommendations related to human rights.

He affirmed the importance of such visits in collecting first-hand information about Bahrain's human rights strides, by consolidating the rights and freedoms guaranteed for the citizens and residents.
