Bahrain-UAE Joint Higher Committee holds 11th meeting

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 23 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and HE Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the 11th session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Joint Higher Committee between the two countries.
HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Zayed welcomed Dr. Al Zayani and Bahrain’s delegation, praising the Bahrain-UAE ties and cooperation in light of the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the President of the UAE, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He affirmed the importance of taking advantage of the available opportunities to consolidate economic, investment, cultural, and social cooperation relations, as well as to deepen the existing partnership based on mutual trust and shared interests, wishing the committee’s work continued success.
HE Dr. Al Zayani expressed his pride in the close relations between the two countries, which have become a model for constructive joint cooperation, and the high level of joint cooperation between the two countries at all levels.
Dr. Abdullatif congratulated the UAE on hosting the COP28 conference on climate change, which is scheduled to be held this November, praising UAE’s efforts in preparing for the conference. He noted the distinguished political and diplomatic role played by the UAE through its membership in the United Nations Security Council, and its efforts to adopt the Council’s resolution on the situation in Gaza in coordination with the Malta Permanent Mission to the UN.
Dr. Al Zayani also praised the political and diplomatic cooperation towards regional and international issues, noting the similarity of positions and viewpoints towards the tragic conditions in the Gaza Strip and the unity of the Arab and Islamic stances regarding the Palestinian cause and the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
The committee reviewed the topics on its agenda and discussed the achievements in the areas of joint cooperation and the projects and programmes scheduled to be implemented.
A number of memoranda of understanding (MoU) were signed in the fields of renewable energy, industrial revolution, human resources in the civil service, vocational qualification and training, and university education.
HH Shaikh Abdullah and HE Dr. Al Zayani signed the minutes of the meeting of the eleventh session of the Joint Committee.
