Finance Minister meets UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs

Dubai, Dec. 4 (BNA): Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Finance and National Economy Minister, met with Mohamed Bin Hadi Al Hussaini, the UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, on the sidelines on the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Shaikh Salman commended the UAE's successful efforts in organising this global event, highlighting its role as a roadmap to tackle global climate change challenges and their impact on the world.
Shaikh Salman commended the historic ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
The minister emphasised the need for further cooperation and coordination, citing the support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
The Finance Minister said that HM the King has commended the initiative announced by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in his speech at the summit on the establishment of a fund worth $30 billion for climate solutions worldwide; the UAE’s pledge to invest $100bn in financing climate action, renewable and clean energy; and its commitment to invest an additional $130 billion over the next seven years.
The meeting reviewed topics highlighted by COP28, and discussed financial and economic cooperation between Bahrain and the UAE.
