Industry Minister participates in COMCEC 39th Ministerial Session

Istanbul, Dec. 5 (BNA): Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, headed Bahrain’s delegation in the 39th Ministerial Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in Türkiye.
The committee meetings discussed a number of economic topics, like the development of small and medium enterprises, the food industry, and conflict resolution.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye was present.
In his speech during the opening session, the minister affirmed Bahrain’s recognition of COMCEC’s pivotal role in identifying and understanding the economic challenges facing member states, while recognizing the importance of strengthening joint efforts in finding sustainable solutions and promoting economic growth in the Islamic world.
He added that Bahrain is keen to support the COMCEC in its efforts to exchange experiences and best practices and develop policies that coincides with COMCEC’s visions.
Fakhro noted Bahrain’s commitment to develop small and medium enterprises and support the growth of the food industry, achieving the goals of these vital sectors and supporting international efforts to promote economic development and its sustainability.
COMCEC is the main multilateral economic and commercial cooperation platform of the Islamic world. COMCEC serves as a central Forum to address the common development problems of the Islamic Ummah and provide solutions to them.
