HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad meets top sports achievers

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President (BOC), received top sports achievers in recent tournaments.

HH Shaikh Khalid affirmed that Bahrain has supported the sports sector, providing all necessary means to enable sports teams competing under the name of "Team Bahrain" to achieve victories and podiums in international events.

His Highness conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and congratulated them on these outstanding results.

His Highness affirmed the support of HM the King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Affairs for the ongoing development of the sports scene in Bahrain.

Fares Mustafa Al Kooheji, the Secretary-General of the Olympic Committee, expressed pride in celebrating a new batch of athletes.

He praised the support of HM the King, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser, and HH Shaikh Khalid.

Recent global, continental, Arab, and Gulf achievements in various sports included handball, bodybuilding, fitness, boxing, wrestling, weightlifting, swimming, snooker, mixed martial arts, triathlon, strongest man, rugby, badminton, and fencing.
