Manama, Dec. 10 (BNA): Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) participated in the High-Level Ministerial Dialogue for Culture-Based Climate Action, during the 28th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting aimed to establish the "Group of Friends of Climate Action on Culture" (GFCBC), which UAE and Brazil (host countries of COP28 and COP30) announced had been established on December 1.

climate action based on culture, develops initiatives, solutions, and cooperation; as well as provides the best practices to all nations and communities, regardless of culture and location.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed affirmed that culture plays a critical role in enhancing climate change awareness and actions.

He emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to enhance environmental awareness and encourage community involvement through continuous initiatives, within the framework of the Kingdom’s commitment to effectively participate in global action to combat climate change and support national efforts to reach carbon neutrality by 2060.
