Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Highlights to QNA Promising Opportunities to Boost Multi-sector Qatar-Uzbekistan Cooperation

Tashkent, December 19 (QNA) - HE Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khodjaev said the Qatar-Uzbekistan relations were strong and durable, noting that recent years have witnessed a development in the level of relations at various levels, especially with regard to trade, economic and investment cooperation. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Khodjaev highlighted the keenness of the leadership of the two countries to advance bilateral relations to new and promising horizons, especially in the sectors of economy, industry, trade and ambitious investment partnerships that serve the interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples. The State of Qatar and Uzbekistan have great potential to advance and strengthen cooperation relations in many fields, His Excellency added, stressing the promising opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in many fields, especially in the sectors of energy, agriculture, culture, education, tourism among others. His Excellency added that both countries would work during the coming period to strengthen trade relations and double bilateral trade indicators, noting that trade and economic relations have gained momentum in recent years, and the two countries also intend to enhance cooperation in the fields of traditional energy, petrochemicals and minerals. The two countries are keen to provide safe and reliable corridors for navigation, transport, trade and connectivity between Central Asia and the Gulf countries, his Excellency added, noting in this regard the State of Qatar’s global standing in the field of trade, transport and shipping, given the quality of the infrastructure related to trade and transport and the distinguished logistical services it provides that contribute to securing stable and sustainable supply chains. His Excellency added that stable supply chains provide customers from various parts of the region with integrated and competitive services that play an effective role in stimulating the maritime transport and logistics sector and enhance global trade. Commenting on Uzbekistan's hosting of the 7th Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award (ACE Award), His Excellency said that the move strengthens its international standing with regard to combating corruption and increases the confidence of foreign investors in the investment climate it provides. His Excellency praised his country's efforts in recent years to implement many administrative and legislative reforms to prevent corruption and enhance the confidence of citizens and investors in various state institutions.
