Asian Cup Qatar: Local Organizing Committee Concludes Promotional Tour in Oman

Doha, December 20 (QNA) - The Local Organizing Committee for the Asian Cup Qatar 2023 concluded a tour in the Sultanate of Oman to promote the upcoming Asian tournament starting from Jan. 12 until Feb. 10, 2024. The tour program, which was launched in cooperation with Muscat Media Group, included a number of meetings with media outlets and media figures from various regions in the Sultanate, as well as the most prominent social media influencers. The goal was to promote the tournament and introduce the latest developments and plans to media professionals. Senior officials from the Local Organizing Committee participated in the tour and answered several questions about Qatar's readiness to host yet another prestigious event, highlighting information related to tickets and Omani fans, as well as issuing permits for media professionals. With the conclusion of the tour, Director of Communications and Marketing at the Local Organizing Committee for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup Qatar Hassan Rabeea Al Kuwari, confirmed that Qatar is fully prepared to host the eighteenth edition of the most important tournament on the continent, indicating that the State of Qatar opens its arms again to welcome football fans, one year after hosting the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, praising the presence of the Omani fans. The Director explained that Qatar, which has established its leading position as the capital of sports in the region and the world, is preparing to welcome fans from all over the region and the continent, and he is pleased to welcome the fans of the tournament who contribute to achieving a successful hosting, especially the Omanis, who are among the most interactive inside and outside the stadiums. He expected the event will see a wide participation of Omani fans who are always present in major sporting events in Qatar. For his part, Director of Local and Regional Media at the Local Organizing Committee for the Asian Cup Qatar 2023, Sheikh Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, stressed that Qatar is fully prepared to host another impressive tournament, with modern infrastructure and world-class sports facilities, including facilities designated for media professionals. These facilities are equipped with the latest tools, devices and all means ensuring the smooth and easy running of the tournament activities. Qatar is preparing to host the Asian Cup for the third time after its success in organizing the 1988 and 2011 editions. Twenty-four of the best teams in the continent will participate in the next edition of the tournament, which will play 51 matches in nine stadiums, including the Lusail World Cup Stadium, which will witness the opening and final matches. The Omani national team will take part in the 2023 Asian Cup Qatar in Group Six and will begin its journey with a game with the Saudi national team on January 16 at Khalifa International Stadium.
