New Belt Conveyer Installed in Sochang Youth Coal Mine

Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The Sochang Youth Coal Mine under the Tokchon Area Coal Mining Complex has newly built the second-stage belt conveyer system.

The completion of an important project for increasing coal production opened up a prospect for increasing coal production for thermal power plants with expanded carrying capacity.

An inauguration ceremony took place on the spot on Saturday.

Attending the ceremony were O Su Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Yang Sung Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Jong Nam, secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK, officials concerned and employees of the coal mine.

Ri Yong Chol, vice-minister of Coal Industry, made an inauguration address. -0-
