Bahrain participates in Global Labour Market Conference

Riyadh, Dec. 13 (BNA): Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Labour Minister and Board of Directors Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), has led the kingdom's delegation to the Global Labour Market Conference (GLMC), which kicked off at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Centre in Riyadh today.

Nibras Mohammed Talib, LMRA Chief Executive Officer, and representatives of the relevant authorities in the kingdom participated in the two-day conference, attended by Ahmad bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, Saudi Human Resources and Social Development Minister, ministers responsible for labour, economy and finance in G20 countries and representatives of the specialised international organisations, in addition to researchers, academics and policy-makers.

In a statement, Minister Humaidan said that the kingdom's participation in the GLMC reflects its keenness to be informed about other countries' labour market experiences and exchange expertise with them in this regard, as the conference provides a platform to highlight the best global practices in this field.

The Labour Minister pointed out that the kingdom boasts a pioneering experience in developing the labour market, thanks to its effective policies, which, he said, have contributed to achieving advanced levels of growth and stability, as well as attracting investments that have generated job opportunities in various economic and commercial sectors.

The Global Labour Market Conference aims to enhance cooperation among various countries in the field of labour market. It provides a platform to exchange successful practices and innovative experiences to develop labour markets, as well as discuss the labour laws and policies aimed at facilitating job seekers' integration into the labour market, enhancing the workers' professional development and creating a safe work environment.
