SANA'A, June 23 (Saba)-The 11th round of the senior employees
committee of Indian Ocean Rim-Association for Regional Cooperation
(IOR-ARC) was held in Sana'a on Tuesday with participation of the
eighteen member states of the association.
In the opening session, Yemen represented by deputy foreign minister
Muhyyedin al-Dabi was handed over the presidency of the round for
two years.
Al-Dabi said that Yemen would work to achieve objectives of the
association and enhance the joint cooperation between the member
countries
The two-day meeting, the participants would discuss reports of the
academicians group and the Indian Ocean Rim Business Forum (IORBF)
of the association.
The reports focused on means of boosting the cooperation to face
impacts of the global financial crisis, and in fields of commercial
and technological cooperation.
Al-Dabi expected that the meetings of the association would come out
with results that meet ambitions of the member countries, saying
that a committee was formed to review the internal bylaw of the
association in order to develop it.
