Yemen, Libya sign cooperation agreement



SANA' A, June 23 (Saba) - Yemen and Libya signed here on Tuesday a
cooperation agreement between the two brotherly countries in
endowment and guidance field.

The agreement, signed by Minister of Religious Endowment and Islamic
Affairs Hamoud al-Hitar and Secretary of the General People's
Committee for Endowment and Zakat Affairs in Libya Ibrahim
Abdul-Salam, included scholarships in field of qualifying mosques'
preachers and instructors in the specialized religious institutes as
well as exchanging experiences in the field of teaching Quran.

It included the cooperation in field of preservation, publishing and
checking Holy Quran copies and the Islamic heritage manuscripts as
well as exchanging the religious publications.

The agreement also stipulated presenting the necessary devices and
equipment by the Libyan side for establishing a unit to maintain and
document the Yemeni endowment manuscripts and documents, in addition
to financing preparing the technical studies and designs and
executing maintenance for a number of mosques and historical Islamic
schools in Yemen.

Furthermore, the agreement contained exchanging the legislations,
indexes, documents and information related to organizing and
managing endowment and mutual visits of delegations and scholars
from the two sides in the religious occasions as well as
coordinating positions in international intellectual meetings.
