Bahrain participates in 40th session of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction Council

Tripoli, Dec. 21 (BNA): The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has participated in the 40th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction, held here in conjunction with the Fifth Arab Ministerial Forum for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, which focused on localising sustainable development goals for reconstruction and disaster response.
Fatima Ibrahim Al Mannai, the Assistant Undersecretary for Housing Services Affairs, and Haitham Kamal, the Communication Director, represented the Housing and Urban Development Ministry at the meeting.
The 40th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction discussed the executive plan of the Arab Strategy for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan, the Arab Housing Conference, and the Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development.
It also discussed cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), as well as with Arab, regional and international organisations, in addition to the relevant Arab unions, and partners of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction.
The Kingdom participated in the session as part of its continuing efforts to enhance joint Arab cooperation in the field of housing and construction, and to discuss the progress of the efforts of Bahrain’s Housing and Urban Development Ministry to develop and design the website of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction, including the database and information.
The Bahraini delegation commended the efforts of the Libyan Housing and Construction Ministry for hosting the session and ensuring its success.
The Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction expressed thanks to the kingdom’s delegation for the Housing and Urban Development Ministry’s efforts to develop their website.
