IMCTC Secretary General Receives Somali Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, January 02, 2024, SPA -- Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Major Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi received today Ambassador of the Republic of Somalia to Saudi Arabia Owais Haji Yusuf Ahmed and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the focus was on combating terrorism, discussing strategic initiatives within the intellectual and media domains, and addressing terrorist financing and military affairs.
The Ambassador and delegation toured the IMCTC headquarters, receiving briefings on vital studies, research, and strategic initiatives against terrorism and extremist groups. They were also informed about the coalition's monitoring and follow-up mechanisms.
The ambassador commended the IMCTC's efforts in combating terrorism across multiple fields, highlighting Saudi Arabia's role in supporting Arab and Islamic causes, including the Republic of Somalia, to foster peace and stability in the region.
Al-Moghedi highlighted the IMCTC's strategic vision, which is grounded in methodological principles supported by the aspirations of coalition countries to combat violence and extremism. He emphasized the significance of Somalia's geopolitical location and its influence on codifying the extremist movements in the Horn of Africa region.
