GCC Secretary General Denounces Israeli Officials' Call to Push Palestinians out of Gaza

Riyadh, January 4, 2024, SPA – Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi has expressed his strong rejection and condemnation of the statements made by Israeli ministers calling for the resettlement of Palestinians outside the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued today, Albudaiwi said that the statements reflect Israel's negative and hostile intentions towards the peace process in the Middle East and pose a threat to the region's stability and an obstacle to peace-building efforts.
He also stressed the need for the international community to work collectively to find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue and put an end to irresponsible and inflammatory statements that could further escalate the situation in the region.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the committed stance of the GCC member states towards the Palestinian cause and their support for the rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state on the territories occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
