Seoul stocks down 0.49 pct in late morning

SEOUL, June 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.49 percent lower late
Wednesday morning with foreign selling weighing on the market, analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) shed 6.73 points to
1,353.81 as of 11:20 a.m.
"Amid an absence of any positive news, foreign investors reduced holdings as they
questioned further upswings of local shares," said Seo Dong-pil, an analyst at
Hana Daetoo Securities.
However, large-cap electronic shares including Samsung Electronics and LG
Electronics traded stronger due to upbeat predictions on their second-quarter
profits.
The local currency was trading at 1,283.7 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., up 7.1 won from Tuesday's close.
