A team of 35 volunteers with diverse medical specialties provided services to beneficiaries during the project, which took place from January 1 to 8. The initiative was part of the Saudi volunteer life program, designed to assist those impacted by the earthquakes in Syria and Türkiye.
The medical volunteers conducted examinations of 300 individuals, performed 38 orthopedic surgeries, and carried out 10 neurological surgeries. Additionally, the project facilitated the measurement, installation, and maintenance of 50 prosthetic limbs. A total of 150 physical-therapy sessions and medical consultation were provided, and 25 individuals received training in the field of physical therapy.
Notably, the provision of prosthetics and physical therapy services as part of the KSrelief’s volunteer projects represents a new addition to meet the humanitarian needs in the town.
