General management for refugees to be established

SANA'A, June, 24 (Saba)-The government approved in its cabinet
meeting held on Tuesday a draft republican decree presented by
interior minister on establishing a general authority to refugees'
affairs. The cabinet directed completing legal measures for issuing
the decree.

The first item of the draft defines duties and specializations of
the management. They includes receiving and housing refugees,
providing protection and care and complete sponsorship on their
affairs. This also includes preparing documents on names of coming
refugees and those who are residing in Yemen.

According the new decree, every refugee will be granted a document
as accepted refugee and then will get humanitarian services.

The cabinet also agreed on the executive program on cooperation in
field of higher education and scientific research signed between
Yemen's and Iraq's governments for the period 2009-2012.

The program includes cooperation between the two countries on
sponsoring higher education program and exchange teachers, scholars,
books, scientific references, theses, encyclopedia, publications and
publications as well as exchanged participation in scientific and
cultural activities in addition to exchanging scholarships.
