On Behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Vice Foreign Minister Participates in Third South Summit of G77+China

Kampala, January 22, 2024, SPA – On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji participated today in the third South Summit of the Group of 77 plus China (G77+China) at the leaders' level, held in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
The vice foreign minister also called for creating the appropriate conditions to resume serious and effective negotiations for achieving peace based on the principle of a two-state solution, relevant international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative. This, he said, ensures the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state along the 1967 borders with East Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
He emphasized that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen on the security and stability of all countries in the region, supporting everything that contributes to achieving this goal to deepen collective cooperation for development and prosperity.
He also stressed that the Kingdom attaches great importance to development issues, humanitarian initiatives, and supporting the countries of the South.
Eng. El-Khereiji further noted that the Kingdom is committed to providing essential services to less privileged communities to build a better and more resilient future.
Additionally, the vice minister addressed the challenges of climate change and the importance of pushing for all available climate solutions. In this regard, he highlighted the Green Middle East Initiative launched by the Kingdom, aiming to set the region's direction in protecting the Earth and nature, contributing to achieving global targets.
He also emphasized the importance of addressing key challenges arising from the digital economy and emerging technologies to enhance trust in them.
