Saudi Arabia Welcomes ICJ Ruling against Israeli Practices and Statements Aimed at Genocide against Palestinians in the Besieged Gaza Strip

Riyadh, January 26, 2024, SPA -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome of the preliminary decision issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which aims to stop any practices and statements aimed at genocide against the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip, and its refusal to reject the lawsuit submitted by South Africa.
The Foreign Ministry stated that the Kingdom supports the ICJ decision and strongly rejects the Israeli occupation practices and violations of the United Nations Convention on Genocide.
Furthermore, the ministry praised South Africa's efforts to file the lawsuit against the ongoing violations amid the Israeli occupation in Gaza. The ministry emphasized the importance of the international community taking further measures to stop the violence in the Gaza Strip, provide protection for the Palestinian people, and hold the Israeli occupation forces accountable for their systematic violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
