Arab League Council to Convene Non-Ordinary Session Tomorrow to Formulate Unified Stance on ICJ Ruling

Cairo, January 2024, SPA -- At Palestine's request, the Arab League Council will hold a non-ordinary session tomorrow at the level of permanent delegates on Sunday, to be chaired by the Kingdom of Morocco.
Palestine's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Mohannad Aklouk, said in press statement that the Palestinian request came in coordination with Morocco, president of the 160th session of the Arab League at the ministerial level, and with Jordan and Egypt and with the support of the member states of the Cairo-based pan-Arab organization.
He also said that the non-ordinary session will be held to formulate a unified Arab stance towards the provisional measures issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel, the occupying power, according to the lawsuit lodged by South Africa which accuses Israel of failure to abide by the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
