Youth Minister meets Duke of Edinburgh Award Director

London, Jan. 30 (BNA): Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, meets with Dorothy Gorman, Director of IAC Operations at The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, during her official visit to the United Kingdom.

Tawfiqi affirmed her commitment to building partnerships with international organisations that support youth and enhance their skills and expedite joint initiatives.

The minister shed light on the award as a pivotal platform to globally showcase the accomplishments of Bahraini youth.

Tawfiqi highlighted the outcome of the recent visit of His Royal Highness Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh to Bahrain, which contributed to developing Bahrain-UK cooperation in the youth sector.

The visit also promoted awareness of the role of the award and the importance of non-formal education, which enables youth to develop essential skills.

Gorman commended the progress of the youth movement in Bahrain at the international level and showcased the history of the award in 120 countries worldwide, with the participation of around a million young people globally.

She emphasised the award's commitment to improving cooperation with the ministry, focusing on the achievements and positions of Bahraini youth in various sectors.
