HM King receives Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia

Manama, Jan. 30 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received today, Bishop Aldo Berardi, the Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia.

HM the King commended the efforts of Bishop Berardi in promoting the values of peace and coexistence, wishing him success in his duties.

HM King Hamad recalled the contributions of the late Bishop Camillo Ballin and his endeavours.

HM the King expressed pride in Bahrain's long history of tolerance, coexistence, and human fraternity, which is demonstrated by embracing diversity in its community and nurtured by the awareness of its people and their adherence to their values and principles.

His Majesty affirmed the kingdom's efforts and pioneering global initiatives aimed at strengthening and consolidating coexistence and interfaith dialogue.

HM King Hamad recalled the historical visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Bahrain and his participation in the dialogue "East and West for Human Coexistence", in addition to HM the King’s last visit to the Vatican City and his meeting with HH the Pope.

His Majesty praised HH the Pope for his wisdom and stances that support peace across the globe. 

The meeting discussed means of consolidating the culture of dialogue, religious tolerance and moderation, and the rejection of extremism and fanaticism.

Bishop Berardi expressed his appreciation to HM the King for his support of various religions represented in Bahrain without discrimination and for providing places of worship, noting the kingdom’s efforts in spreading the values of peace and coexistence.
