HM King receives GCC Secretary-General

Manama, Jan. 31 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at the Al-Safriya Palace today, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), who is on a visit to the kingdom.
HM the King welcomed the GCC Secretary-General, commending the efforts he and the affiliates of the GCC Secretariat-General are making to enhance the joint GCC action and open up new horizons for more cooperation and coordination among GCC states, which will benefit all GCC peoples.
HM King Hamad lauded the pioneering wide-ranging achievements of the GCC since its establishment, praising the bloc's advanced regional and global status, as well as effective contributions to consolidating the fraternal ties among its member states and strengthening the pillars of regional security.
HM the King praised the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of education, represented by the University of Bahrain, and the GCC Secretariat-General on cooperation in the fields of education, training, studies, research and knowledge dissemination, as part of its endeavours to enhance educational and knowledge-based coordination among member states.
The GCC chief expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude to HM the King for HM's sound directives.
He also expressed pride in the royal support for the efforts of the GCC Secretariat-General and all its affiliates to serve the GCC.
Albudaiwi commended the effective role by the kingdom, under the leadership of HM King Hamad, in serving the GCC, citing its remarkable efforts to develop the joint GCC action system and achieve its lofty goals.
