HH Shaikh Khalid meets HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani

Doha, Jan. 31 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), met with His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Amir.

The meeting took place at the Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, where HH Shaikh Khalid attended the match between the Bahrain national football team and Japan in the round of 16 of the AFC Asian Cup.

HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the GSA; His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Cabinet Affairs Ministry’s Undersecretary, Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Vice-President; His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice-President of the Bahrain Football Association (BFA); His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Vice-President of BFA; Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, GSA CEO; and Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, BOC Secretary-General, attended the meeting.  

HH Shaikh Khalid conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa.

HH Shaikh Khalid commended the Bahraini-Qatari ties and congratulated Qatar for hosting the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

HH Shaikh Khalid commended the performance of the national team, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by the players and the management of the team, and the support of Bahraini fans. HH wished the national team good luck and success in the remainder of the team’s journey in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and other upcoming tournaments.
