Bahrain warns against launch of Israeli military attack on Rafah

Manama, Feb. 10 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's deep concern about an Israeli plan to launch a ground military offensive on the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, the last safe refuge for more than a million Palestinians.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned of the catastrophic repercussions of the attack on the lives and humanitarian conditions of civilians, as well as the serious implications it poses on regional security and stability.

The ministry called on the international community and the UN Security Council to intervene urgently and immediately to prevent the Israeli military attack, as it is a serious violation of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law.

The ministry reiterated Bahrain’s unequivocal position calling for a ceasefire and rejecting the forced displacement of the brotherly Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip.

It also emphasised the kingdom’s call for the need to provide protection for civilians and ensure their return to their homes, immediately and permanently.

It also affirmed Bahrain’s support for efforts to reach a sustainable peaceful solution to end the war and prevent the expansion of military operations.
