BNA Director-General attends FANA Development Team meeting in Dubai

Dubai, Feb. 14 (BNA): Abdulla Khalil Buhejji, the Director-General of Bahrain News Agency (BNA), participated in the meeting of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) Development Team, which was held on Tuesday in Dubai on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS) 2024. 

The meeting was attended by Dr. Fatima Al Salem, FANA Vice President and the Director-General of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA); Dr. Farid Ayar, the Secretary-General of FANA. 

The meeting discussed means to improve cooperation and coordination among FANA member news agencies, exchange expertise, knowledge, and best practices, enhance technical capabilities, optimise operations, and improve joint work, fostering better collaboration. Buhejji highlighted the significance of the union's first meeting after the General Assembly meeting, which aims to present proposals for developing its capabilities and enhancing its regional and global presence.

 The director-general added that the meeting emphasised the need to enhance communication and coordination among union members, develop technical capabilities, and cooperation between Arab and international agencies. 

 The Federation of Arab News Agencies comprises the national news agencies of 18 Arab countries and aims to strengthen ties between its member agencies, facilitate the exchange of news, and ensure wider reach in both Arab countries and overseas, in addition to boosting the performance of its members through the exchange of expertise and advice and organising regular meetings.
