HM King, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, HH UAE President visit Royal Guard Command
Manama, Feb. 16 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, today paid a visit to the Royal Guard Command.
On their arrival, HM the King and HH the UAE President were welcomed by Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Lieutenant-General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, and Colonel His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Royal Guard Special Force Commander, in addition to several BDF senior officers.
The UAE and Bahraini national anthems were played, and then HH UAE President greeted the brothers of the late Major Abdulla Rashid Al Noaimi, who lost his life along with several servicemen from the UAE Armed Forces during a training mission in Somalia due to a terrorist act.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed wrote the following statement in the VIP Visitor Book:
“Today, I was pleased to visit the Royal Guard Command, which is an important monument within Bahrain’s national institutions. It represents a symbol of the Bahrain Defence Force and the roles it is playing in achieving security and stability at the national and regional levels. I extend my most sincere wishes to the servicemen of the Royal Guard for continued success and glory.”
Then, Major Mansour Al Khaldi read a poem before HM King Hamad and HH President Mohammed bin Zayed. The poet welcomed the UAE President’s visit, and praised the solid Bahrain-UAE relations and common achievements.
After that, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad presented HH the UAE President with a commemorative gift on the occasion.
HM King Hamad and HH UAE President reviewed the robust deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries and their peoples.
HM the King lauded the solid Bahraini-UAE relations, praising the steady growth of their fruitful bilateral cooperation and coordination across various fields.
HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, valued highly the tremendous efforts exerted by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, to develop the Royal Guard’s combat capabilities, expressing thanks to all the brave Royal Guard servicemen for their dedication to undertaking their patriotic duties, along their brethren from the BDF units and branches.
President HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed pleasure at visiting the Royal Guard, appreciating the professionalism and competence of its servicemen. He also commended the combat capabilities and advanced level reached by the BDF, under the leadership of HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
His Highness wished Bahrain and the UAE further progress and prosperity.
Then, HM the King bid farewell to HH the UAE President.
