Shura Second Deputy Chairperson elected Parliamentary Network of Women Parliamentarians Chairperson

Rabat, Feb. 16 (BNA): Dr. Jehad Abdulla Al Fadhel, Second Deputy Chairperson of the Shura Council, has been elected uncontested as the Chairperson of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab world (ASSECAA)’s Parliamentary Network of Women Parliamentarians in Africa and the Arab World.

Dr. Al Fadhel was elected during the meeting of Women Parliamentarians in Africa and the Arab world, held on the sidelines of the Parliamentary Conference on South-South Cooperation, organised by ASSECAA.

The Parliamentary Network of Women Parliamentarians in Africa and the Arab World aims to exchange expertise, experiences and information on issues related to women and their empowerment.

It also aims to conduct studies on women-related issues and adopt countries’ best practices to empower women and enhance their role in society.
