Foreign Minister meets EU Special Representative for Gulf Region

Munich, Feb. 17 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Foreign Affairs Minister, today met Luigi Di Maio, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Gulf Region, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

The two sides discussed the progress of the Bahrain-EU relations, as well as ways to enhance relations, cooperation and coordination between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the EU in the economic, trade and development fields.

They also reviewed the regional developments of mutual interest and their impact on regional security and stability, including the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and the freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al Mandab.
