Bahrain Ambassador to UK, Dean of Arab Diplomatic Corps chairs meeting with Mayor of London

London, Feb. 21 (BNA): Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps and Bahraini Ambassador to the United Kingdom, chaired the meeting of the Council of Arab Ambassadors accredited to the UK, with Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London.
Shaikh Fawaz praised the efforts of the Mayor of London in supporting constructive cooperation in tourism and investment.
They discussed ways of consolidating Arab-British relations and supporting anticipated joint projects and programmes.
They also reviewed ways to enhance the security and safety of Arab tourists, in addition to future plans undertaken by the Mayor's office to promote tourism and investment in various areas of the British capital.
Shaikh Fawaz hosted the mayor at a luncheon and discussed local British affairs, upcoming elections, and the Arab and foreign movements in London supporting the Palestinian cause. He stressed the importance of ending the war, avoiding violence, and providing humanitarian aid for peace and stability.
The council affirmed the importance of continuing communication with the Mayor of London and concerted efforts to reach the best solutions and practices that benefit the peoples of all countries.
Khan expressed his appreciation for the invitation of the Council of Arab Ambassadors to hold this meeting, emphasising the keenness to boost cooperation and consolidate relations.
