Bahraini delegation participates in TFTC workshop

Riyadh, Feb. 21 (BNA): A Bahraini delegation, led by headed by Ambassador Nancy Abdullah Jamal, Chief of the Strategic Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. has participated in a specialised workshop aimed at building regional capacities to combat terrorism financing in the field of maritime security, organised by the Terrorist Financing Targeting Centre (TFTC) in Riyadh.

The workshop discussed the latest developments in combating the financing of terrorism in terms of maritime security, in light of the increasing attacks carried out by terrorist networks on vital sea passages, creating many threats in various areas including regional stability.

It also highlighted the experiences of a number of Member States in assessing the potential risks and mechanisms in place to avert the threats and protect the interests of the region.

Bahrain’s participation in this workshop reflects its foreign policy based on strengthening regional and international partnership, while its active participation in the TFTC indicates a commitment to combating the financing of international terrorism. It also affirms the efforts made by Bahrain, along with its neighbouring countries and strategic partners, to protect the financial system and maintain security and stability in the region.
