Education Minister meets UNESCO-RCQE Director General

Manama, Feb. 21 (BNA): Dr. Mohammad bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council (HEC), received Dr. Abdulrahman Almedaries, Director General of the UNESCO Regional Centre of Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE) in Saudi Arabia.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the regional workshop organised by HEC and UNESCO-RCQE entitled "The Development of Higher Education Programmes in Arab Countries to Meet Future Skills and Professions."

He praised the centre's efforts in developing education and higher education in the region, as well as the projects, workshops, educational forums, and qualitative research studies implemented in several sectors, including the governance of educational institutions, university education, and early childhood education.

Almedaries expressed his appreciation to the minister for his support of the centre's efforts and the excellent arrangement and organisation of the regional workshop, which an elite group of researchers and educators attended.
