The MoU was signed by Lieutenant General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, National Guard Staff Director, and Major General Muneer Ud Din, Director General of the Pakistani Foreign Military Cooperation Branch.

Lt. Gen. He noted that the Bahraini-Pakistani joint committee meetings are part of the National Guard's five-year strategic plan, which is aimed at improving combat readiness.

Maj. Gen. Muneer Ud Din affirmed that the joint committee meetings, which take place on a yearly basis and conclude with the signing of an MoU, resulted in a series of drills (Al Badr), which are designed to enhance the capability of both sides in fighting terrorism and national defence.
