Yemen, Kingdom to clinch deal

SANA'A, June 25 (Saba) - Yemen and Saudi Arabia have agreed in
principle to boost mutual cooperation on protecting consumers in
both neighbors.

The announcement was made during the meeting Thursday that gathered
officials from the two countries' associations for consumer
protection.

The meeting involved deputy director of the Yemen Association for
Consumer Protection Fadhl Moqbil Mansour and director of the Saudi
Association for Consumer Protection Mohammed Bin Abdul Karim
al-Hamad.

The two countries initially agreed to set out a framework for
cooperation to protect consumers in Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

The agreement would be finally approved in the next few days.

Under the agreement, the two associations will boost media role to
help protect consumers through sharing information and publications
as well as holding joint symposiums to raise awareness and adopt
remote sensing technology for tracking movement counterfeit
products, which can affect the people and the environment.

They also affirmed their desire to swap visits to learn from each
other's expertise.
