Municipalities Affairs Minister attends Khalifa International Award winners' honouring ceremony

Abu Dhabi, Feb. 27 (BNA): Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister, participated in the ceremony honouring the winners of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation.
The award was held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court.
Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, attended the honouring ceremony.
Minister Al Mubarak also attended the Conference of Agricultural Ministers of the World's Date Producing and Processing Countries, chaired by Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, the UAE's Minister of Climate Change and Environment. The event coincided with the ceremony honoring the recipients of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation.
The minister affirmed Bahrain's support for agricultural initiatives aimed at enhancing food security. He emphasized the need for cooperation to develop plans and programmes to achieve sustainable development goals. He highlighted the importance of strengthening mutual ties in the agricultural sector.
The Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture commended the UAE's efforts in organising the Khalifa International Award for Date Palms and Agricultural Innovation, recognising the role of UAE’s leadership in advancing creativity and environmental protection in the agricultural sector. He congratulated the award winners and wished them success.
The Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation was established by His Highness the UAE President, in recognition of the outstanding efforts and contributions made by both individuals and institutions in the field of agricultural innovation and date palm. It aims to encourage and motivate them to exert further efforts towards upgrading the agricultural sector and increasing date production.
