Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry, FAO review cooperation

Manama, Mar. 2 (BNA): Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hassan, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Undersecretary for Animal Wealth Resources, met with Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab Ahmed, the Public Policy Officer at the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations.

Dr. Khalid emphasised the significance of periodic meetings with officials from FAO to monitor progress in collaborative projects. This includes the joint food security strategy developed by Bahrain and FAO to enhance local self-sufficiency in agricultural and animal products, crucial for achieving sector goals.

The meeting discussed topics of mutual interest, including strategies to increase support for the agricultural sector, support for increased local production, and frameworks for developing the poultry industry to achieve self-sufficiency.
