King Hamad Global Centre's board chairman meets UNAOC High Representative

Ankara, Mar. 2 (BNA): Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, has affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to continue consolidating tolerance, peaceful coexistence and inter-cultural dialogue, drawing inspiration from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s enlightened visions, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
This has consolidated Bahrain’s status and role in promoting regional and global security, peace and prosperity, he said.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed made the statements while meeting Miguel Ángel Moratinos, the High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC), on the sidelines of the third Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The two sides reviewed areas of the distinguished solid partnership and cooperation between Bahrain and the UNAOC in disseminating the culture of peace, understanding, dialogue and harmony among various religions, cultures and civilisations, in addition to combating the hate and extremist discourse.
Miguel Ángel Moratinos appreciated the kingdom’s initiatives to promote the values of peace and human fraternity.
He praised Bahrain’s constructive cooperation with the UNAOC to serve their common goals of establishing security, peace and respect for religious freedoms, in addition to supporting sustainable development goals.
