AZERI OMBUDSWOMAN ISSUES APPEAL ON INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR VICTIMS OF TORTURE
Baku, June 26 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s commissioner for human rights Elmira Suleymanova has issued an appeal to international organizations on the occasion of the International day for Victims of Torture.
Suleymanova called on the international community to “unite against violence and torture”, and condemned Armenia`s agression against her country.
“For Azerbaijan, the country that lost 20 percent of its territory as the result of Armenia`s military aggression and ethnic cleansing, it is the extremely critical issue.”
“We are against all forms of violence, torture and terror, and we call upon everybody to attach more importance to this issue,” Suleymanova said in her statement.
