Red Crescent Saves a Bangladeshi Umrah Performer's Life at Makkah Grand Mosque

Makkah, March 16, 2024, SPA -- The prompt action taken by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) ambulance teams proved crucial in saving the life of a Bangladeshi Umrah performer who experienced a medical emergency at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
The Director General of the SRCA's Makkah branch, Dr. Mustafa bin Jamil Baljoun, reported that ambulance personnel conducting routine patrols in the outer courtyards of the mosque discovered the unconscious Umrah performer, a man in his fifties. The emergency team swiftly assessed the situation and identified the pilgrim as suffering from fainting and respiratory distress. They immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) using a defibrillator (AED). Fortunately, their efforts paid off, and the pilgrim's pulse returned. Following the successful resuscitation, the SRCA team transported the pilgrim to Al-Haram Emergency Center 3 for further medical care and treatment.
