Care Affairs Authority Harnesses Advanced Technologies for Transportation Services in the Grand Mosque during Ramadan
Makkah, March 25, 2024, SPA -- The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, represented by the Transportation Services Department, intensifies its efforts during the holy month of Ramadan by enhancing transportation services within the Grand Mosque in the Saie area, the Tawaf area, and the roof. This initiative includes managing 5,000 regular and electric carts linked through the "Tanaqul" application and operated via systematic plans. These plans entail ramping up periodic sanitization operations and overseeing the organization of cart pushers' tasks. The management also supervises the operation of carts for transporting the elderly and individuals with disabilities, in addition to ensuring the maintenance of carts and golf carts. Alongside current services, the Authority introduces a new service aimed at facilitating transportation for the elderly and individuals with disabilities between the two holy mosques. This service entails providing 50 golf carts on the roof of the Mataf area, equipped with suitable seating. Operating daily from 4 PM to 4 AM, designated locations for cart pushers' gatherings—licensed by the management—include the Ajyad entrance (King Abdulaziz Gate), the ground floor of the Holy Mosque (King Fahad Gate), and the first floor in the Saie area. The management has issued licenses to cart pushers divided into three shifts, offering features such as cart rental during their presence within the Grand Mosque and while performing rituals, with or without a driver. Additionally, the Transportation Department conducts field monitoring to ensure compliance with instructions by cart operators and regulates prices round the clock using a shift system adhering to the highest standards of quality and performance.
