Bahrain condemns Israeli authorities’ confiscation of Palestinian lands in West Bank

Manama, Mar. 27 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the Israeli authorities’ announcement to confiscate 800 hectares of land in the occupied Palestinian territory in the Jordan Valley in the West Bank, stressing that it is a blatant violation of the principles of international law, as well as a threat to the peace process, and the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative, and international legitimacy resolutions.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed the kingdom’s call on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to implement its resolution regarding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, provide protection for civilians, and expand the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid.

The Ministry also called on the international community to implement resolutions related to stopping “illegitimate” settlement policies, and preventing extremist settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

In its statement, the Foreign Affairs Ministry also called for creating serious conditions to resume the just and comprehensive peace process, in a way that would achieve security, stability, and peace for all the peoples of the region.
