Parliamentary delegation participates in Inter-Parliamentary Meeting

Geneva, Mar. 27 (BNA): The Bahraini parliamentary delegation, led by Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, participated in the Governing Council meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 148th IPU Assembly and related meetings, hosted by Geneva, Switzerland, reviewed the reports of the IPU’s standing committees regarding the topics discussed during their meetings in recent days.

The Governing Council agreed to hold the 149th General Assembly of the IPU in Geneva, Switzerland, from October 13 to 17, 2024, and the 150th General Assembly in the Republic of Uzbekistan from April 5 to 9, 2025.

The Governing Council elected additional members to fill various vacancies in the its sub committees, including the Executive Committee.

A representative of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee reviewed the status of some parliamentarians who have filed complaints or had complaints filed on their behalf before the Governing Council.
