Yemeni, Syrian ministers hold overall talks
DAMASCUS, 27 (Saba)- Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakil discussed on
Saturday in Damascus with the Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Husni Lutfi
means for increasing Syrian exports to Yemen and the possibility of holding an
exhibition for Yemeni products in Syria similar to the exhibition for Syrian
products currently being held in Yemen.
The two sides reviewed the agreements that will be signed during the upcoming
meetings of the Syrian-Yemeni Joint Higher Committee which will be held in Damascus,
underlining the need to hold meetings among businessmen from both countries on the
sideline of the Damascus International Fair, which will kick off in July.
On the other hand, Minister of Transport Khaled al-Wazir discussed with Minister of
Transport Yarub Badr the articles of the memo of understanding for cooperation the
field of roads and bridges which will be signed on Sunday, in addition to the memo
of understanding for Yemen joining the Syrian-Jordanian Marine Navigation Company.
Moreover, Minister of Expatriates Ahmad Hussein discussed with his Syrian
counterpart Joseph Suwaid the articles of the memo of understanding for expatriates
affairs.
Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology Kamal al-Jabri discussed
with Syrian counterpart Imad Sabouni the executive program for cooperation in the
field of communications and information services, in addition to the possibility of
participating in conferences, forming joint technical committees, exchanging
expertise, and exporting international calls using internet protocols, among other
issues.
For his part, Minister of Public Health and Population Abdel-Karim Rase'a held talks
with Minister of Health Rida Saeed on the suggested articles for the health
cooperation protocol for 2009-2011 which will be signed on Sunday.
